Professor Datin Dr. Norlinah Mohamed Ibrahim is a senior consultant neurologist, academic leader, and researcher at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, where she serves as Deputy Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Lead of the Neuroscience Research Group. With more than 26 years of experience in medicine and neurology, she is internationally recognized for her contributions to Parkinson’s disease, movement disorders, stroke, and spinocerebellar ataxia research.


After obtaining her medical degree from University College Dublin and completing specialist training in neurology and movement disorders in London, she returned to Malaysia to build a distinguished career in clinical care, research, and medical education. She has led numerous national and international research collaborations, including projects funded by the Michael J. Fox Foundation and Malaysia’s Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.


Professor Norlinah has published extensively in leading international journals, contributed to global neurological disease initiatives including the Global Burden of Disease studies, and served in key leadership roles within the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society. Her work has earned multiple national and international awards, including the Distinguished Graduate Award from University College Dublin and the Strategic Ambassador Award from the Movement Disorders Society in 2024.


Beyond academia and research, she is actively involved in public health advocacy, postgraduate medical education, and patient awareness initiatives related to neurological disorders in Malaysia and the Asia-Pacific region.
