Consultant Neurologist and Physician
KPJ Kuching Specialist Hospital

I am a highly dedicated and accomplished Internal Medicine Specialist with a subspecialty in Neurology, further strengthened by a clinical fellowship in Neuromuscular and Peripheral Nerve Disorders completed in the United Kingdom. With over a decade of comprehensive clinical experience across multiple medical disciplines, I bring a diverse background that has provided me with an in-depth understanding of patient care, clinical diagnostics, and effective interdisciplinary collaboration. A significant milestone in my career was the opportunity to undertake a one-year Clinical Fellowship at King’s College Hospital, London, where I had the privilege of working alongside some of the most respected figures in the field of neurology and neuromuscular disorders. This included collaborating with Dr. Rob Hadden, a renowned expert in neuromuscular disorders, and gaining invaluable experience in managing complex neuromuscular and peripheral nerve conditions. During this fellowship, I developed advanced proficiency in conducting and interpreting nerve conduction studies and electromyography, while also participating in multidisciplinary clinics that addressed rare and complex neurological conditions. This experience greatly enhanced my clinical acumen and broadened my exposure to international standards of care and academic excellence. In addition to my work at King's College Hospital, I had the opportunity to collaborate with several other distinguished experts in the field. This included Prof. Dr. Mike Lunn, Consultant in Paraproteinemic Neuropathy at Queen Square, London, where I gained deeper insights into the diagnosis and management of paraproteinemic neuropathies. I also worked closely with Prof. Mary Reilley, Consultant Neurologist at Queen Square, specializing in Genetic Neuropathy, as well as Dr. Alex Rossor, Consultant Neurologist at Guy’s & St Thomas' Hospital, London, with a focus on Genetic Neuropathy. I had the privilege of working with Prof. Dr. Andrea Cortese, Consultant Neurologist at Queen Square, whose research on CANVAS (Cerebellar Ataxia, Neuropathy, and Vestibular Areflexia Syndrome) provided me with valuable exposure to cutting-edge research in the field. Additionally, I collaborated with Prof. Dr. Simon Rinaldi, Consultant Neurologist at Oxford Radcliffe Hospital, whose expertise in Neuropathy in particular autoimune nodopathies further enriched my understanding of various neuropathic  disorders. These experiences, alongside my work in multidisciplinary clinics, have not only refined my clinical expertise but have also provided me with a comprehensive understanding of both the research and clinical management aspects of neuromuscular and peripheral nerve diseases. The opportunity to work alongside such eminent specialists has deeply influenced my approach to patient care and clinical practice, and continues to inspire my ongoing commitment to advancing the field of neurology.
