Dr Wan Asyraf Wan Zaidi, graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia for both under graduate and post graduate in Internal Medicine, he pursue his neurology training before further training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital Comprehensive Stroke Centre, Melbourne, Australia for his subspeciality training.

 

His currently a clinical lecturer at Faculty of Medicine Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (National University of Malaysia) and stroke neurologist & physician for Department of Medicine, Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz UKM.

 

He is currently the Vice Chairman of Malaysia Stroke Council and a member of World Stroke Organisation, WSO Future Stroke Leaders Programme 1st Cohort Alumni and also the co-chair MT2020+ Malaysia regional committee . He is also the national lead investigator for Malaysia in several multicentre international RCTs i.e. TRIDENT, AVERT DOSE, OPTIMISTmain and Librexia Stroke trial.

 

His research interest are in acute stroke reperfusion treatment, stroke rehabilitation and stroke prevention especially in the intracranial atherosclerotic disease subgroup patients.
