Dr Usman Jaffer is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He holds a Doctor of Neuroscience from Universiti Sains Malaysia, a Master of Clinical Psychology from UCSI University, and postgraduate qualifications in Islamic studies from IIUM’s International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilisation (ISTAC). His academic background brings together neuroscience, psychology, and Islamic jurisprudence.

His areas of expertise and research interest include neuroscience, clinical psychology, neuroimaging, neurotechnology, neuroinformatics, Maqasid al-Shariah, and Usul al-Fiqh. He has also contributed to peer-reviewed research exploring the intersections of mental health, spirituality, psychology, and neuroscience.
