Syahrul Sazliyana Shaharir is a Professor and Consultant Rheumatologist in Faculty of Medicine and Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2004 and obtained the Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians, MRCP (UK) in 2009. She completed her Master in Internal Medicine from UKM in 2010. Her Rheumatology clinical training was in Malaysia (Putrajaya Hospital & UKM) and Birmingham UK (University Birmingham Hospital and City Hospital Birmingham) and subsequently obtained the Fellowship of Rheumatology (Malaysia) in 2015. She has published more than 60 articles in indexed journals. Apart from clinical service, education and research, she is actively involved in Non-Governmental Organizations, serving as the President of Persatuan SLE Malaysia and Vice President of Malaysian Society of Rheumatology (MSR).
