Dr. Lakana Kumar Thavaratnam is a consultant ophthalmologist with subspecialty expertise in neuro-ophthalmology. He obtained his MBBS from Manipal College, India, followed by a Master of Ophthalmology from the University of Malaya. He further pursued advanced training in neuro-ophthalmology at Universiti Sains Malaysia, the Singapore National Eye Centre, and Great Ormond Street Hospital, London.

Dr. Lakana has extensive clinical experience in cataract evaluation, glaucoma management, and neuro-ophthalmic conditions, with a particular interest in visual disorders related to neurological diseases, including stroke and balance-related conditions. His procedural expertise includes cataract surgery, laser treatments, and botulinum toxin injections for conditions such as blepharospasm.

He is an active member of the Malaysian Medical Association and the Malaysian Society of Ophthalmology, and has been recognized for his contributions to patient care and medical education.
