
MY, MalaysiaAssociate Professor Dr. Tan Cheng Yin is a distinguished neurologist specializing in clinical neurophysiology and neuromuscular disorders. He currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya. Dr. Tan holds an MD from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), an MMed in Internal Medicine from Universiti Malaya (UM), and is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP, UK).
Actively involved in research and academia, Dr. Tan has contributed extensively to the field of neurology, particularly in the study of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), Guillain-Barré syndrome, and neuromuscular ultrasound. His work is widely published in leading medical journals, and he plays a key role in international collaborations, including the Inflammatory Neuropathy Consortium Base (INCbase).
Dr. Tan is a dedicated member of several professional societies, including the Malaysian Society of Neurosciences (MSN) and the Peripheral Nerve Society, where he has held leadership positions. In addition to his academic contributions, he is actively involved in clinical practice, medical education, and research initiatives aimed at improving the diagnosis and management of neuromuscular diseases.
